Magazines Award CaseStack for Impressive Expansion and Efficient Logistics Solutions
Santa Monica, Calif., August 25, 2009 – Inc. and Food Logistics magazines selected CaseStack as one of the fastest-growing private companies in America and a top third-party logistics provider respectively, signifying both corporate growth and a dedication to superior supply chain services.
Inc. magazine listed CaseStack, a leading provider of outsourced logistics solutions to consumer product goods companies, in its Inc. 5000 list due to an impressive 72 percent revenue growth since 2005. Inc. also listed CaseStack as one of the fastest-growing logistics and transportation companies in America.
The Inc. 5000 lists leaders of American innovation representing industries ranging from healthcare to technology to construction. In its third year, the list tends to capture larger, more mature companies growing as a result of unique business models and entrepreneurial processes. The 2009 honor represented the sixth time Inc. has recognized CaseStack’s growth since 2003.
Inc. selected privately held companies based upon year-over-year sales growth from 2005 to 2008. Given that one-third of job creation comes from new business, Inc.’s list is a lens through which to view the most forward-thinking companies in the United States. Using this and other Inc. lists, the magazine has identified businesses including Gateway, Intuit and Microsoft before they became industry giants.
"Savvy trend spotters and those who invest in private companies know that the Inc. 5000 is the best place to find out about young companies that are achieving success through a wide variety of unprecedented business models, as well as older private companies that are still expanding at an impressive rate," said Inc. 5000 project manager Jim Melloan. "That’s why our list is so eagerly anticipated every year."
Food Logistics also recognized CaseStack, adding the company to its 4th annual 2009 Top 70 3PL list. The list provides readers with the names of those logistics providers supplying a broad scope of services and capabilities that enable food companies to reduce costs, increase flexibility and improve service levels. CaseStack was recognized as a provider that optimizes warehousing and transportation operations for its customers.
"These honors represent a greater story in this economy," said CaseStack President and CEO Dan Sanker. "CaseStack has proven that with an emphasis on reducing systemic waste in your customer’s supply chain, logistics companies can both solidify their reputation as superior service providers and grow simultaneously."
Sanker attributed the recognition to CaseStack’s focus on both customer service and inventive solutions, including the company’s retailer consolidation program. As part of the program, retailers collaborate with CaseStack to submit master purchase orders, allowing CaseStack to load several product shipments onto one truck and ship a full truckload rather than multiple LTL shipments. As a result, CaseStack's supplier customers benefit from between a 20 percent and 40 percent reduction in transportation costs, increased on-time rates, and reduced greenhouse gas emissions.
"Our consolidation program has helped us grow despite the recession because the program is sustainable by design, eliminating unnecessary cost and improving service levels," Sanker said.
As retailers stress to suppliers the importance of removing excess waste from their logistics operations, programs like CaseStack’s please both the supplier with reduced costs and optimized resources, and the retailer due to decreased dock congestion and fewer damages.
